The Luganville Water System has been serving our community for a long time, but now the system is getting old. Many pipes and fittings are in poor condition, and we are finding many leaks occurring throughout the system.
When unplanned problems arise with the pipes, it's not easy to find the right pipes and fittings in shops in Santo. Sometimes, the time it takes to purchase spare parts is also delayed because funds may be limited. Furthermore does not help when there are extra damages like pipe cutting or damages to pipes and water meters but there is delay in reporting back to the office.
However, despite these challenges, the Urban Water team from the Department of Water Resources (DoWR) continues to work hard. They prioritize restoring your water supply first, and they will continue addressing all these issues—no matter how long it may take.
The government has secured funding from ADB through a loan and grant of around 6 billion vatu for a new water source, reservoirs and mains for new wurban water supply system for Luganville.
Customers who have issues with the water please approach our DoWR team in Luganville for more clarification and assistance.
We appreciate your patience and support. We all want a strong and safe water system in Luganville.
